The tag of orientation to the bottom of the piston has to be directed to a driving chain.

Removal of the lower cover of a rod

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On 4-cylinder petrol engines remove a head of the block of cylinders and the oil pallet.
2. On 6-cylinder petrol SOHC engines remove a head of the block of cylinders, the oil pallet and the oil pump.
3. On 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines remove a head of the block of cylinders, the oil pallet, the oil pump and a masloulavlivayushchy plate.
4. On diesel engines remove a head of the block of cylinders, the oil pallet, the oil pump and a masloulavlivayushchy plate.
5. On all models if there is a deposit in the top part of the cylinder, remove it with a scraper from soft material. Existence of a step in the top part of the cylinder testifies to excessive wear of the cylinder and need of boring of cylinders of the engine.
6. Check existence of marking on rods and covers of rods. Marking settles down from an inlet collector (see rice. Arrangement of marking of a rod and lower cover of a rod). In the absence of marking, using the hammer and a center punch or paint, note the provision of a rod and lower cover of a rod.
7. Check existence of tags of orientation to the piston bottom. The arrow has to be directed to the bottom of the piston in a driving chain (see rice. Tag of orientation to the piston bottom). Often the tag of orientation is not visible because of presence of a deposit therefore the bottom of the piston needs to be cleared previously. In the absence of a tag of orientation to the piston bottom, using a chertilka, put it.
8. Turn a bent shaft of the engine in such situation that pistons 1 and 4 (4-cylinder engines), 1 (5-cylinder engines), or 1 and 6 (6-cylinder engines) were installed in the lower dead point.
9. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover of the lower head of a rod of the first cylinder and remove the lower cover of a rod (see rice. Removal of the lower cover of a rod).
10. Using the hammer handle, push out the piston of the block of cylinders up and take it from the block of cylinders.
11. On the lower head of a rod establish a cover of a rod and screw bolts that will allow to keep them in a set and not to mix in places.
12. Similarly remove the piston of the fourth cylinder (4-cylinder engines) or the piston of the sixth cylinder (six-cylinder engines).
13. Turn a bent shaft for installation of other pistons in the lower dead point and similarly remove pistons.
