23:26. Bipod of steering transfer
Prevention
At installation it is necessary to use new nuts of fastening of spherical hinges, the central and cross steering drafts and a new nut of a tightening bolt of a steering bipod.
Removal
Arrangement of a bolt (1) and lock ring (2) fastenings of a bipod to steering transfer
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the parking brake, then lift a forward part of the car and record on supports.
2. Unscrew nuts, the fixing pins of spherical hinges of the central and cross steering thirsts for a bipod of steering transfer. Using a stripper of spherical hinges, take pins of spherical hinges from a bipod of steering transfer.
3. Unscrew a nut and take tightening the bolt fixing a bipod to steering transfer then remove a lock ring (see the drawing).
4. Measure and write down distance between the upper edge of a bipod and a case of steering transfer. Check that the combination tag on a shaft is visible through tightening a bipod section. Otherwise put a tag.
5. Using a stripper, remove a bipod from a shaft of steering transfer. Check a condition of the lower sealing ring of steering transfer and, if necessary, replace it.

Installation
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear vents of a shaft of steering transfer and a bipod.
2. Apply the blocking structure of Loctite 270 on bipod vents.
3. Establish a bipod on vents of a shaft of steering transfer. At the same time the combination tag on a shaft has to be visible through a tightening crack of a bipod.
4. Move a bipod on a shaft so that the distance between the top part of a bipod and a case of steering transfer was equally earlier measured.
5. Insert tightening a bipod bolt, then screw on it a new nut and tighten the required moment. Establish a lock ring in a shaft flute.
6. Establish pins of spherical hinges of steering drafts in a bipod, screw on them new nuts and tighten them the required moment. Lower the car.
