6.12. Head of the block of cylinders

Prevention

For removal of a head of the block of cylinders it is necessary to use the load-lifting mechanism. At installation of a head of the block of cylinders it is necessary to use new laying. For fastening of the bearing of the camshaft operating inlet valves it is necessary to use a new bolt.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The head of the block of cylinders is removed on the cold engine together with collectors.
2. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator.
3. Open a cowl and establish it in vertical position.
4. Merge engine oil from the engine.
5. Remove the camshaft.
6. Remove fuel nozzles.
7. Remove a radiator.
8. Remove the mechanism of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt (see rice. Elements of the mechanism of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt).
9. Remove a plastic cap, unscrew a bolt and remove an intermediate pulley of an auxiliary driving belt.
10. Unscrew bolts and remove a radiator fan pulley.
11. Unscrew bolts and remove depreciation this rack of the mechanism of a tension.
12. Using flat-nose pliers, remove a tension mechanism spring.
13. Remove a plastic cap, unscrew a bolt and remove the mechanism of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt.
14. On models without turbo-supercharging uncover the air filter, a tube of an air inlet and the filtering element of the air filter.
15. On models with a turbocharger remove an air inlet branch pipe from a turbocharger.
16. Unscrew a turbocharger arm suspension bracket.
17. Unscrew a nut and disconnect the turbocharger oil return pipeline from a head of the block of cylinders.
18. Dispose pure rags under connection of a fuel-supply line to the fuel filter. Then unscrew nuts and disconnect fuel-supply lines (see rice. Places of connection of fuel-supply lines to the fuel filter). Close the ends of pipelines traffic jams.
19. Unscrew the fuel filter from a head of the block of cylinders.
20. Unscrew a pipe for the probe of measurement of level of engine oil from a head of the block of cylinders.
21. Remove a hose from the valve of system of repeated combustion of exhaust gases (see rice. The place of connection of a hose to the valve of system of repeated combustion of exhaust gases).
22. Working under the car, unscrew the bolts fixing an arm of support of the exhaust system to the transmission, then unscrew bolts and remove an arm from the exhaust system.
23. Disconnect a reception exhaust pipe from an inlet collector.
24. Using the special tool, disconnect the fixing bracket from connection of a cranked branch pipe of cooling liquid and the oil heater (see rice. Use of the special tool for release of the fixing bracket from connection of a cranked branch pipe of cooling liquid with the oil heater).
25. Unscrew a cranked branch pipe from the oil heater, then disconnect it from a connector.
26. Unscrew the nuts fixing the feeding tire to glow plugs.
27. Remove an inlet collector.
28. Remove the top uspokoitel of a driving chain.
29. Through an opening in a head of the block of cylinders unscrew two bolts fixing a head of the block of cylinders to a cover of a driving chain (see rice. An arrangement of bolts of fastening of a cover of a driving chain to a head of the block of cylinders).
30. Check that all hoses and electric sockets are disconnected from a head of the block of cylinders.
31. Gradually and evenly unscrew bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders in the sequence, return shown in the drawings Sequence of Tightening of Bolts of Fastening of a Head of the Block of Cylinders on the 4-cylinder diesel engine, the Sequence of tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on the 5-cylinder diesel engine, the Sequence of tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on the 6-cylinder diesel engine.
32. Take bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders, noting their arrangement as bolts of various length are used.
33. Hook slings of the load-lifting mechanism for the eyes located from the left forward side of a head of the block of cylinders and with back right on a final collector and remove a head of the block of cylinders from the engine.
34. Remove laying of a head of the block of cylinders.

Preparation for installation

Measurement of length of a bolt of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The interfaced surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine need to be cleared carefully of the remains of old laying and a deposit, using a plastic or wooden scraper. It is also necessary to clear the top parts of pistons. When cleaning exclude a possibility of products of cleaning to oil canals of the cooling system. Carefully clear the internal surfaces of cylinders.
2. Check the surfaces of interface of a head and the block of cylinders of the engine for existence of defects. Insignificant damage is eliminated with machining. Also using a metal ruler and the probe, check planeness of a prileganiye of surfaces.
3. Clear openings under bolts in the block. Screwing up of a bolt in the opening filled with oil can break off the block because of hydraulic pressure.
4. Measure length of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders (see rice. Measurement of length of a bolt of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders). If length of a bolt exceeds admissible limits, bolts need to be replaced in a set.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check that adjusting tags of distributive and cranked shaft are combined with indexes.
2. Check that two directing pins are installed in the block of cylinders and establish laying of a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Using the load-lifting mechanism, establish a head of the block of cylinders.
4. Grease bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders with engine oil, insert them into a head and tighten by hand.
5. Gradually and consistently in several stages tighten bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders (see rice. The sequence of tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on the 4-cylinder diesel engine, the Sequence of tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on the 5-cylinder diesel engine, the Sequence of tightening of bolts of fastening of a head of the block of cylinders on the 6-cylinder diesel engine).
6. Screw in and tighten the required moment bolts of fastening of a cover of a driving chain to a head of the block of cylinders.
7. Establish the top uspokoitel of a chain.
8. Establish an inlet collector.
9. Install the feeding tire on glow plugs and fix by nuts.
10. Moisten a new sealing ring in pure cooling liquid and establish it on a cranked branch pipe. Install a cranked branch pipe on the oil heater and fix by the fixing bracket.
11. Connect a reception exhaust pipe to a final collector.
12. Establish an arm of fastening of the exhaust system to the transmission and fix by bolts.
13. Further installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments.
14. Install the mechanism of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt in the sequence, the return to removal.
15. Fill in cooling liquid in the engine cooling system.
16. Fill in engine oil in the engine.
