14.8. Generator
On all models the generator is installed from the right forward side of the engine and is put in action by an auxiliary driving belt.
On models with 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder petrol SOHC engines the generator can be removed from the engine from the top part of a motor compartment. On models with 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines and all diesel engines the generator can be removed only from under the car.

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator. If necessary lift a forward part of the car and record on supports. |
| 2. Remove the engine mudguard located in the lower part of a motor compartment. For improvement of access remove air supply tubes in the engine. |
| 3. Take off an auxiliary driving belt from a generator pulley. |
| 4. Unscrew bolts and remove a plastic cover from a back part of the generator. Press clamps and disconnect многоконтак the tny electric socket from the generator (see rice. Arrangement of a clamp of the multicontact socket of the generator). |
| 5. On models with the generator of the reduced sizes remove a rubber protective cover, unscrew nuts and disconnect generator wires from plugs (see rice. Places of connection of electric wires to the generator of the reduced sizes). |
| 6. Unscrew the top, then lower bolts of fastening of the generator and remove the generator from an arm (see rice. Arrangement of bolts of fastening of the generator). |
| 7. If necessary remove the block of the regulator of tension and the brush holder. |

| 1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal. Establish an auxiliary driving belt and adjust its tension. |
